Wikimania; Hello there!

[edit]

Information I need for the scholarship application:

  • Your full name
  • Your nationality (taiwanese?)
  • What city you live in (taipei?)
  • What languages you speak
  • What wikimedia projects you work on
  • Which days you're planning to come. (if you're a programmer, are you coming for part of the hacking days, august 1-4?)

Plese get this information back to me right away!

My revert to your current events edit

[edit]

Simple. I did not think your edit observed the neutral point of view. NSLE (T+C) at 09:28 UTC (2006-02-28)

I'm don't understand Chinese (esp. not Traditional Chinese!) that well despite it being my mother tongue, but I got the gist of your message. I got the bit about you being an admin at the Chinese Wiki. I'm sorry to have reverted you then, as I felt it wasn't NPOV (this was influenced by your userpage simply stating that you are from Taiwan). I apologise fully for my revert. NSLE (T+C) at 10:31 UTC (2006-02-28)
I can read Chinese, but in Singapore we're taught Simplified Chinese, not Traditional. NSLE (T+C) at 11:44 UTC (2006-02-28)

SUL

[edit]

Hi! I saw that you are bureaucrat on zh.wikipedia so I need little help from you about one problem. I tried to manage my global account (SUL) but I could not do that because I realized that there are other accounts with the same name on other wikimedia projects (http://toolserver.org/~vvv/sulutil.php?user=conquistador). All these accounts are inactive, except on the Portugese Wikipedia (en.wikiquote.org, es.wikipedia.org, fr.wikipedia.org, ja.wikipedia.org, nl.wikipedia.org, pl.wikipedia.org, pt.wikipedia.org, tr.wikipedia.org, zh.wikipedia.org). There is one account that was edited and filled with some data. That user has not edited his account since the 21st December 2005, the same day he opened his account. Furthermore, he has made only 5 edits in total. I opened my account on the Croatian Wikipedia on the 3rd May 2005 and I have made 1128 edits since then. According to Help:SUL I have the superior claim on this username, so I am asking you if you could help me in merging these accounts with mine, so I could have global account. Thanking you in advance. --Conquistador (talk) 02:11, 10 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Theodoranian! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 2 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Shaw-Lan Wang - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 19:40, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Shaw-Lan Wang, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shaw-Lan Wang. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Taiwantaffy (talk) 14:22, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Unionsquaresfo.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, low-res, no obvious use. Better files at c:Category:Union Square, San Francisco.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 04:13, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
